About The Friendlier City Project

The Friendlier City Project is a LGBTQ+ non-profit organization based in Wheeling, West Virginia. Our mission is to build an established and prospering LGBTQ+ community in Wheeling through enhanced partnerships and educational opportunities.  We are aware of the intersectionality that exists in our everyday lives and want to encourage all residents to be respectful of race/ethnicity, gender, culture, age, ability status, religion and other social characteristics. Our goal is to cultivate our city as a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment where our queer community members and allies can live, work and thrive.
